This panel explores the connection between carbon emissions and a better logistics future. How can digitalizing logistics help reduce carbon emissions along each step in the coffee value chain? To answer this question, we will focus on a case in Colombia where they are measuring the emissions across de coffee supply chain. Together we will find digital opportunities to help our planet! We will discuss three pieces of research. First, research on Mile contrasting tools and experiences in measuring the carbon footprint in rural Colombia. Second a pilot on electric vehicle transport between the storage and distribution centers. Third, results of CO2 emissions estimation for maritime transportation from Cartagena to London as the first attempt to put specific numbers behind the ocean freight. We will also take another perspective and discuss the emissions released when moving coffee from producers to the port of export locally, including a deep analysis of digital applications that provide carbon emission calculators.

Este panel explora la conexi&oacute;n entre las emisiones de carbono y un mejor futuro log&iacute;stico. &iquest;C&oacute;mo puede la digitalizaci&oacute;n de la log&iacute;stica ayudar a reducir las emisiones de carbono en cada paso de la cadena de valor del caf&eacute;? Para responder a esta pregunta, nos centraremos en un caso de Colombia en el que se est&aacute;n midiendo las emisiones a lo largo de la cadena de suministro del caf&eacute;. Presentaremos los resultados de tres investigaciones: La primera es el contraste de herramientas y experiencias en la medici&oacute;n de la huella de carbono en la Colombia rural. La segunda es un resultado piloto de transporte en veh&iacute;culos el&eacute;ctricos entre el centro de almacenamiento y el centro de distribuci&oacute;n. La tercera investigaci&oacute;n presenta la estimaci&oacute;n de las emisiones de CO2 para el transporte mar&iacute;timo desde Cartagena a Londres, como primer intento de poner cifras concretas al transporte mar&iacute;timo. Tambi&eacute;n tomaremos otra perspectiva y discutiremos las emisiones liberadas localmente cuando se traslada el caf&eacute; desde los productores hasta el puerto de exportaci&oacute;n, incluyendo un an&aacute;lisis profundo de las aplicaciones digitales que proporcionan calculadoras de emisiones de carbono.
