MISSION
IBI provides a platform for fostering stakeholder collaboration, good industry practices, and environmental and ethical standards to support biochar systems that are safe and economically viable. 
IBI STRATEGIES

<li>Networking, Education, Demonstration: - Advance international collaboration of science, industry, agriculture, government and non-governmental organizations to discover and demonstrate biochar use, and develop policy incentives, quality standards, and market diversity. - Collaboration with industry to discover and demonstrate cost effective uses for biochars and biochar systems.</li>
<li>Support the generation, review and dissemination of information on all aspects of biochar;</li>
<li>Provide clear, non-biased, credible information on all aspects of biochar and a global information and communications platform for collaboration and cross-fertilization;</li>
<li>Create standards and policies to guide public and regulatory confidence that the organizations involved in biochar research, production and marketing adhere to high ethical standards and the products they produce are safe and appropriate for use as intended. </li>

International Biochar Initiative 

We at Puro.earth ensure companies can neutralize carbon emissions with science-based carbon removals and remain trusted on the road to carbon net-zero.

We issue verified CO2 Removal Certificates (CORCs) based on the Puro Standard. Puro Standard released the first biochar methodology in the carbon markets in 2019 and is trusted by corporate pioneers like Microsoft, Shopify and Zurich Insurance. &nbsp; Puro Accelerate is our program to scale the carbon removal ecosystem by enabling corporate buyers to purchase future CORCs from projects in development. Funding happens through two main instruments: Advance Market Commitments for CORCs and Pre-CORCs. Pre-CORCs are digital assets that represent validated projections of future carbon removals. They convert into CORCs after removals are verified. Pre-CORCs enable prepayments for future carbon removals, filling funding gaps and making suppliers less depend on more expensive forms of financing.

PYREG GmbH is a German NetZero Tech company and a pioneer in the field of CO2 removal (CDR) through sustainable solutions in waste disposal management. The German machine manufacturer was founded in 2009 as a university spin-off. Today the company employs 100 people. In April 2022, the company founded its US subsidiary - establishing both sales and technical service support for this growing market segment. With its high-tech machines, the company offers a scalable and cost-effective solution for safely and permanently binding environmentally harmful CO2 in the form of beneficial biochar. The targets of the Paris Agreement can only be achieved by implementing such negative emissions technologies.
PYREG is industry leading in carbonizing organic waste (biomass, sewage sludge, etc.) into EBC-certified biochar &ndash; a process that simultaneously produces regenerative energy. Used as a soil conditioner or in other permanent material applications, biochar creates a natural, safe and long-term carbon sink. The amount of CO2 bound by PYREG&rsquo;s plants can therefore be certified and traded.
