About the Latin American and Caribbean Internet Addresses Registry (LACNIC)
The Latin American and Caribbean Internet Addresses Registry (LACNIC; see http://www.lacnic.net) is a regional, non-governmental organisation established in Uruguay in 2002. It is responsible for the distribution and administration of Internet numbering resources (IPv4, IPv6, ASNs), providing Reverse Resolution services, maintaining the WHOIS database and &nbsp;making other resources available for the region of Latin America and the Caribbean. It is one of the five Regional Internet Registries (RIRs) that exist worldwide.
LACNIC abides by a self-regulation model through which rules (policies) governing the administration of Internet resources are developed by the regional community through a public, participative, transparent and consensus-based process that is open to anyone with an interest.&nbsp;
In addition to being a critical actor for the technical operations of the Internet, LACNIC also contributes to Internet development in the region through training activities and an active cooperation policy. Through these means, LACNIC promotes and defends the regional community's interests and helps create conditions that will allow the Internet to become an effective instrument for social inclusion and economic development to the benefit of all territories and citizens within LACNIC's service area.
LACNIC is managed and run by a Board of seven directors that is supported by 64 professional staff. The Board of Directors is elected by LACNIC members &ndash; more than 11,657 network operators providing services in 33 Latin American and Caribbean territories.

TATT is responsible for facilitating the orderly development of both the Telecommunications and Broadcasting Sectors.&nbsp;
Some of its functions with respect to the regulation of Telecommunications include:&nbsp;
<ul>
<li>Granting licences and making recommendations to the Minister on the granting of concessions;&nbsp;</li>
<li>Classifying telecommunications networks and services;&nbsp;</li>
<li>Determining universal service obligations throughout Trinidad and Tobago to ensure that all citizens have access to telecommunications services Establishing national telecommunications and broadcasting industry standards;&nbsp;</li>
<li>Advising the Minister on technical standards and policies governing the telecommunications and broadcasting industries and issues arising at international, regional and national levels;&nbsp;</li>
<li>Ensuring compliance with the ITU Convention;&nbsp;</li>
<li>Planning, supervising, regulating and managing the use of the radio frequency spectrum including: The licence and registration of radio frequencies and call signs to be used by all stations operating in Trinidad and Tobago or on any ship, aircraft, or other vessel or satellite registered in Trinidad and Tobago;&nbsp;</li>
<li>The allocation, assignment and reallocation or reassignment of frequency bands where necessary;&nbsp;</li>
<li>Managing and administering telephone numbers;&nbsp;</li>
<li>Testing and certifying telecommunications and broadcasting equipment to ensure compliance with (i) international standards (ii) environmental health and safety standards, including electromagnetic radiation and emissions.</li>

To reach another person on the Internet you have to type an address into your computer - a name or a number. That address has to be unique so computers know where to find each other. ICANN helps coordinate these unique identifiers across the world. Without that coordination we wouldn't have one global Internet.&nbsp;
ICANN was formed in 1998. It is a not-for-profit public-benefit corporation with participants from all over the world dedicated to keeping the Internet secure, stable and interoperable. It helps promote competition and develop policy on the Internet&rsquo;s unique identifiers.&nbsp;
ICANN doesn&rsquo;t control content on the Internet. It cannot stop spam and it doesn&rsquo;t deal with access to the Internet. But through its coordination role of the Internet&rsquo;s naming system, it does have an important impact on the expansion and evolution of the Internet.

Since February 2019, Pinaka has been providing Blockchain consulting services to the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (ECCB); contracted to manage deliverables in the development of a blockchain based, private permissioned Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC). Pinaka works closely with ECCB&rsquo;s Project Team to ensure the Supplier meets stipulated requirements of the project. We provide overall Programme Management &amp; Technical oversight in the design, development, testing and implementation of the CBDC, DCash, now live in 5 Eastern Caribbean territories. &nbsp;Our work continues to assist in extending DCash services and expanding to all 8 EC territories.
