Studies have repeatedly shown that humans don&rsquo;t always make the most rational and consistent decisions for a variety of reasons.&nbsp; However, the consequences of less-than-optimal decision making can be of much higher consequence in Government as opposed to other industries. This session will first briefly summarize the cognitive science around bias and decision making, highlighting key challenges for the Government leader.&nbsp; We&rsquo;ll then examine how the use of data, analytics, and artificial intelligence (AI) can serve as critical sources of evidence in decision support, highlighting practical examples and stories from Government.&nbsp; Finally, we&rsquo;ll briefly touch on the ethical and societal implications of adoption of advanced technologies like AI in Government, as well as how to ensure it is used responsibly and with accountability.
