Avenues World School 

BASIS Bilingual School Shenzhen was our first bilingual school in China. The campus opened&nbsp;in September 2020 in Shenzhen&rsquo;s Futian District for Pre-Kindergarten to 5th-gradestudents. The new expanded campus opened in 2021 with the addition of middle grades courses, and will eventually offer courses through Grade 12.

BASIS Bilingual School Shenzhen

BASIS International School Guangzhou, the second BASIS Curriculum School outside of the U.S., is located in Huangpu Science City, Guangzhou, surrounded by poetic views of the green hillside. The campus covers an area of 16,143 square meters and a building area of 38,000 square meters, boasting a classical Chinese garden style. BASIS International School Guangzhou

BASIS International School Nanjing is located in the University Town in Qixia District, Nanjing. The school is surrounded by high-end communities, scientific research institutes, high-technology companies, and top universities like Nanjing University and Nanjing Normal University. BASIS International School Nanjing was opened in September 2019. It can accommodate 1,200 students from PreK-1 to Grade 12, including 418 boarding students. The school was accredited by Cognia (previously known as AdvancED) in its founding year.
The campus covers an area of 32,500 square meters and a building area of 30,000 square meters. BASIS International School Nanjing

BASIS International School Park Lane Harbour is located on a lush hillside of Park Lane Harbour in Guangdong Province. It is co-founded by Ascend International Education Group and China Resources Group with a total investment of 600 million RMB. BASIS International School Park Lane Harbour opened in September 2018, serving up to 1,200 students from Grade 5 to 12, including 800 boarding students. In its founding year, BASIS International School Park Lane Harbour was accredited by AdvancED and authorized by the College Board as an AP and PSAT test center, later an SAT test center in 2019.

BASIS International School Park Lane Harbour

As the first BASIS Curriculum School outside of the U.S., BASIS International School Shenzhen opened in Shekou Net Valley, Nanshan District, Shenzhen in 2015 after gaining authorization from the Department of Education of Guangdong Province. BASIS International School Shenzhen offers its rigorous BASIS Curriculum to students of Prek-1 to Grade 12, who are foreign passport holders or residents from Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan.
On July 29th, 2015, The Washington Post reported on the initiation of BASIS International School Shenzhen in an article titled BASIS, One of America&rsquo;s Top Charter School Networks, Seeks New Turf: China, the first time it has ever done so for an international school in China. China&rsquo;s domestic newspaper Reference News then translated and reprinted The Washington Post article.
In 2016, its founding year, BASIS International School Shenzhen was accredited by AdvancED. It was then authorized by College Board as AP and SAT test centers in the school year 2016-2017. Additionally, BASIS International School Shenzhen is also an authorized test center for PSAT.

Grade 10 is a preparatory year. The British Columbia Academy (BCA) at Nanjing Foreign Language School (NFLS) began in 2002. The partnership between the British Columbia Ministry of Education and Jiangsu Ministry of Education has led to two decades of high-quality secondary education that transfers to student success at university. BCA is accredited by both Canada's British Columbia Ministry of Education and by the Jiangsu Ministry of Education. Olive Tree Hangzhou

Overseas Chinese Academy of Chiway Suzhou was established in order to better meet the international education needs of the children of overseas Chinese returnees. With substantial support from the government of Suzhou Industrial Park, OCAC Suzhou was founded in April 2016 and opened to receive students in September 2017. As a private not-for-profit school offering fifteen years of continuous education K-12, OCAC Suzhou is the first school to be specially built for the children of overseas Chinese, returnees and leading talents, as well as students who wish to receive Chinese international education.
In September 2017, the North Campus was officially opened for primary students. In May 2018, with the completion of the South Campus and the expansion of the scope of the school, the school as a whole expanded to the South Campus and officially became a private-owned and non-profit K-12 school. The school covers a site area of 66 acres and a construction area of more than 50,000 square meters that can accommodate up to 2300 students. The school implements bilingual education in small classes, with no more than 24 students in each class.
The school was authorized as an IB DP school in May 2018, as an IB PYP school in August 2020, and as an IB MYP school in June 2022. By far, we are the only IB World School in Suzhou that provides a complete range of IB programmes and enrolls Chinese students.
From 2020 to 2022, the school has been consecutively listed on the Hurun Education Top 100 Chinese International Schools list and Forbes China International School Annual Selection, becoming recognized as the &ldquo;youngest TOP 50 international school&rdquo; in international education community.&nbsp;
By August 2022, the number of students enrolled in the school has exceeded 2,000. About Us
Established in 2009, RDFZ XISHAN School is a public boarding school located in Beijing, catering to Chinese nationals. It is a satellite school to the High School affiliated to Renmin University of China. The school offers Grade 7-12; grade 7-9 students follow the standard Chinese curriculum, while grade 10-12 students follow a combined AP Program and Chinese Xuekao curriculum.
Through establishing and implementing international projects (SAGE, iSUMMIT, etc.) and collaborative learning with global sister schools, such as a student exchange with Tabor Academy in the United States, we provide our students with 21st &nbsp;century skills on a cross-cultural platform transcending geographical borders. Teaching at XISHAN
Our teaching staff consists of 52 teachers, 40 of which are Chinese, and 11 are International. The International staff come from the United States, Canada, India, Kenya, Pakistan, and Zimbabwe.&nbsp;
For the current academic year, our class sizes average 21.5 students across all subjects, with a low of 9 and high of 28.
The teaching schedule consists of a 9-period day, forty (40) minutes in length, Monday to Friday. International teachers may teach up to a maximum of 26 periods per week.
Salaries are paid on the 10th of the month for the previous pay period. International teachers are issued a monthly payslip.
All teachers engage in extra-curricular activities (ECA) once per week. These ECA are delivered in English to support English language development outside the classroom.&nbsp;
All staff are engaged in yearly professional learning and development in a collegial and supportive environment. There are also ample opportunities to socialize as a group in a relaxing and friendly atmosphere.
AP Curriculum
RDFZ XISHAN SCHOOL AP Center offers a rigorous, stimulating, and engaging learning environment. Our students are exposed to research-based effective teaching strategies to stimulate critical thinking, collaborative work skills, and creativity.&nbsp;
Students take year-long College Board approved Advanced Placement (AP) courses. These courses include: Calculus AB and BC, Pre-Calulus, Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Physics 1 and 2, Physics C (Mech and EM), Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Psychology, 2D Art and Design, Seminar and Research (AP Capstone), Statistics, Computer Sci-A and Computer Sci-P.
Concurrently, students must also take required compulsory and elective Chinese courses, and must pass the Xuekao Examinations in order to qualify for a Chinese High School Graduation Diploma. Our students do not participate in the Gaokao.
As part of learning experience at RDFZ XISHAN, students, once completed the AP courses and AP examinations, engage in a Project-based Learning Module (PBL). Students engage in a cross-curricular project designed to provide students opportunities to apply learning in a context outside the classroom, simulating real-world environments, problem-solving within a team setting, co-planning, and research and development.
Staff Housing
Staff can either live on campus or in an apartment off-campus. Our contracts offer a generous housing allowance for those staff choosing to live off campus. We strongly recommend if you are new to China you reside on campus for the first six months. Details for housing will be discussed with prospective candidates.
