Geldards will discuss the practical steps that local authorities can take to avoid Government intervention and to respond effectively to intervention. &nbsp;The workshop will consider the legal basis for intervention and the circumstances in which this might be applied and consider examples of intervention. There will be reference to best value and other duties of local authorities and the need for &nbsp;effective governance. The workshop will discuss the roles of different officers, including the role of local authority legal services.
