The virtual gathering seeks to convene Indigenous leaders, residential school Survivors and organizations that have begun, or intend to begin searching for burials sites of former residential schools. Specifically, the gathering aims to contribute to inter-community support and learning. At this gathering, we will share lessons learned and best practices that will serve as a valuable resource for communities engaging in the efforts to help find and/or identify children that did not return from residential school. If you’re experiencing emotional distress and want to talk, you can also contact the National IRS Crisis Line at 1-866-925-4419. It’s toll-free and open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
