Recognition and Reckoning: Empowering Men of Color through Equity and Cultural Wealth
Thank you for joining us!
Men of color bring unique strengths and assets to higher education, but they also face specific and complex barriers. Re-envisioning our institutions as spaces designed to support and empower men of color will require a radical and honest reevaluation of who we are and what we do. This year’s Institute will center on the cultural wealth of men of color and apply an equity-minded lens to our own institutions.
This three-day experience will feature local and national scholars, artists, and activists. This year, June 1 and 2 of the Institute will be held virtually; Dr. Pedro Noguera will deliver the June 1 keynote and Dr. Ibram X. Kendi will speak on the morning of June 2. June 3 we will offer both virtual and in-person activities, including workshops and food trucks. All Institute participants who register for 3 days are welcome to join us for lunch on June 3 at the food trucks on the BHCC Campus.
*The registration fees will help us defray the costs of presenters, food, and sessions for the Institute. The fees also support our continued work centering equity and cultural wealth throughout the year.
**If the fees present a hardship, we are happy to discuss fee waivers. We also offer discounts to groups of 5 or 10 or more. For waiver or discount requests, please contact Lee Santos Silva at firstname.lastname@example.org
BHCC employees and students to receive the FREE promo code, please email Lee Santos Silva at email@example.com. Without the code you will be prompted to pay for your CECW Institute ticket.
When registering you do not need to give your phone number. You'll receive a confirmation email (check junk mail) from Team Hublio.
