The Kenya Space Agency was established and mandated under the Kenya Space Agency Order of 2017 to coordinate, regulate and promote the development of the space sector, and to provide leadership and advisory in policy, legislation and programmes related to space sector. It promotes, coordinates and regulates space-related activities to enhance utilization of space technology for socio-economic development. Therefore, the Agency is expected to position the country to tap into regional and global opportunities including entering into bilateral and multilateral agreements. The Kenya Space Agency replaced the National Space Secretariat that was established via Gazette Notice No. 5563 of 5th June 2009.

To be premier space agency in promotion of access and effective utilization of space economy for national sustainable development

To coordinate, nurture and develop Kenya&rsquo;s space sector to maximize the utilization of space opportunities
 Key Deliverables
1. Strengthen the coordination of the Space Sector to increase its contribution to Kenya&rsquo;s socio-economic development. 2. Support the development of systems and applications to enhance the uptake and utilization of space derived data and information for decision making. 3. Develop and adopt requisite legislation in support of the growth of space sector and development of space related technologies. 4. Intensify capacity development and outreach programmes to increase the number of practitioners and inspire the next generation of professionals in the space sector.

The Copernicus Marine Service (or Copernicus Marine Environment Monitoring Service) is the marine component of the Copernicus Programme of the European Union. It provides free, regular and systematic authoritative information on the state of the Blue (physical), White (sea ice) and Green (biogeochemical) ocean, &nbsp;on a global and regional scale. &nbsp; It is funded by the European Commission (EC) and implemented by Mercator Ocean International. It is designed to serve EU policies and International legal Commitments related to Ocean Governance, to cater for the needs of society at large for global ocean knowledge and to boost the Blue Economy across all maritime sectors by providing free-of-charge state-of-the-art &nbsp;ocean data and information.
It provides key inputs that support major EU and international policies and initiatives and can contribute to: combating pollution, marine protection, maritime safety and routing, sustainable use of ocean resources, developing renewable marine energy resources, supporting blue growth, climate monitoring, forecasting, and more. It also aims to increase awareness amongst the general public by providing European and global citizens with information about ocean-related issues.

Digital Earth Africa (DE Africa) &nbsp;provides a routine, reliable and operational service, using Earth observations to deliver decision-ready products enabling policy makers, scientists, the private sector and civil society to address social, environmental and economic changes on the continent and develop an ecosystem for innovation across sectors.
 Digital Earth Africa mission
Digital Earth Africa (DE Africa) continues to process openly accessible and freely available data to produce decision-ready products. Working closely with the AfriGEO community, DE Africa will be responsive to the information needs, challenges and priorities of the African continent. DE Africa will leverage and build on existing capacity to enable the use of Earth observations to address key challenges across the continent.

Post-colonial Africa has changed significantly from both human and natural influences Infrastructure projects have changed the landscape and migrations from rural to urban have totally changed the population distribution. &nbsp;Realizing the increasingly dynamic development enable us to measure our influence on our environment, the growing infrastructure and thereby our destiny. If we are to fully understand that status today we need to better understand the changes that have taken place and so better predict the consequences and benefits of current actions and decisions. Nowhere is this more significant than in Africa where temporal spatial data that has been inaccessible.
&nbsp;
 GeoDyn is a company that stresses the importance of observation in particular the value of both aerial photography and satellite imagery that record the situation on the ground objectively and unbiased. Access and analysis of such imagery datasets covering the last 6 decades would provide the knowledge we need to understand cause, affect and predict. While high resolution satellite imagery may be available for the last decade it is not available to look back further. For this we need to look to gaining access to the millions of high-resolution aerial imagery that were collected all over Africa since the 1940&rsquo;s. These images contain a treasure trove of information that is currently not accessible and may have been in some cases unfortunately destroyed. Although some of the information in these images may have been extracted onto paper maps, these are likely also lost and only contain a subset of the information in the original aerial imagery frames.
&nbsp;
 The Management Geodyn has combined over 100 years&rsquo; experience aerial survey of Africa based on involvement with MAPS geosystems who started aerial survey mission in Africa in the early 1980. From the year 2001 MAPS geosystems was the Digital Globe distributor for Africa and help ensure suitable high resolution satellite imagery was collected. &nbsp;GeoDyn is dedicated to the promoting the access and usage of the aerial film archives that may still exist. Having developed very efficient processes for the scanning, georeferencing, orthorectification and analysis of aerial film archives, we are looking to locate these films and help make them accessible for the benefit of the African Community.
We do not know the whereabout of all Aerial imagery of Africa, but we would like to get your assistance in finding them and unearthing this treasure of information therein.

GEODYN

The session shall be started with a keynote talk from ITC Professor of GeoHealth and Education in the Department of Earth Observation Science, to discuss how EO has been utilized to support various Health related challenges. It will also be a learning session for EO practitioners to share experiences around the EO utilities in the health sector, which creates better integration and opportunities to support the sector as a community. The session shall also feature presentations on use of EO in managing, monitoring (hotspots), and predicting the spread of diseases (water borne, weather triggered, communicable), health resources management, health-environmental nexus and the future applications of EO in addressing holistic human health.
