Coaching for All: Lessons from India
&nbsp;
The intention of this session is to explore innovations in democratizing coaching, so that the benefits of coaching can reach a much wider range of people. We will share some innovations from our experience in the development sector, learnings and possibilities for the coaching fraternity. Coaching, with its promise of unlocking human potential can have a big impact on all dimensions of people&rsquo;s lives. However, are three key challenges
<ul>
<li>accessibility (not enough coaches)</li>
<li>affordability (prohibitive costs)</li>
<li>acceptability (adjustments needed as per the cultural context)</li>
</ul>
Similar challenges are likely to be prevalent in most developing countries, and amongst the underprivileged segment of developing countries as well.
Through Swasth Foundation, we have been working for 15 years to address the challenges faced by low to mid-income populations towards sustained well-being. Through our learnings, we are creating models of excellence that address the challenges of accessibility, affordability and acceptability for sustained well-being. These innovations have enabled us to deliver over 1.5 million health interactions at 4.5 star satisfaction levels and fundamentally reduce the cost of service delivery by 40%. Further, the overall system design is more efficient and effective &ndash; upskilling of primary care professionals leading to lesser load for specialist providers, sharing ownership so that patients make home the first point of care by taking charge of their health, and focusing all enabling services on the end goal of sustained well-being.
6 years ago, when we realized the power of coaching principles in accelerating and sustaining wellbeing, we started integrating coaching principles into our work. We believe our learnings can be extended to the overall coaching space. Our experience has shown us that it is possible to create an efficient ecosystem that reduces the load on experienced coaches. Such an ecosystem would bring together a team that embodies the coaching mindset. While coaching principles remain the same, the competencies and tools used can be adapted to the cultural context, for greater acceptability and uptake by clients. Also, we can train our clients on foundational knowledge and skills such that they can take more ownership of their life and lead their growth.

Learn about an innovative communication-based technique that eliminates cultural bias and expand clients self- awareness, insight and compassion for self and others. Regenerating Images in Memory (RIM) is a client-generated way of using imagination and body awareness to solve any problem/symptom. As a body-centered process it dissolves emotional blocks to greater success at their root automatically producing effortless shifts in behavior. Originated in 2003, RIM has been successfully used by coaches since. It&rsquo;s also gained research support at the University of Colorado.

Coach Education Beyond Borders - The Role of The Educator; Mentor and Supervisor in Promoting Cross-Culturalism

Coaching has caught the global imagination and growth rates for the profession are highest in newer geographies such as the Middle East and Asia. As global MCC coaches and entrepreneurs Linda McLoughlin and Catherine Tanneau bring their extensive experience of pioneering coach education in new territories and diverse cultures. DEIJ is a key element of their work as coach educators; mentors and supervisors and they will share how these values have been adapted and tested in cross-cultural groups with varying norms and cultural references.
What they know for sure is that coaching as a modality for growth and transformation is highly &lsquo;plastic&rsquo; and travels well beyond borders; ethnicities; religions and cultural beliefs.
As accredited coaching school owners, Linda and Catherine will share their own experiences from the field in the Middle East; China, Europe, and Americas and the lessons they have learned in adapting their delivery style and content while honoring the basic tenets of non-directive coaching. They will also highlight how they manage highly diverse groups of learners to role model the essence of inclusion with particular reference to psychological safety, deep respect, awareness of biases, especially unconscious biases.
They will highlight with practical examples how as educators and mentors they address DEIJ with their curriculum and how they use their group experiences to provide live examples of DEIJ in action in emerging coaching markets.

The Sacred Practice of Coaching We will journey together to explore, experience, and embody seven sacred practices of coaching. This path is a sacred practice where everyone belongs, everyone is essential, and everyone matters, where leadership is shared and offered to all.
This is a highly experiential workshop where seven sacred practices in coaching exercises will be demonstrated and accessible for participants to integrate as they choose into their coaching practice.
Applicable to working with individuals, couple, families, groups and teams as all in the collective are present in some form.
