Our primary activity is the Certification Program. WRAP is the largest independent facility certification program in the world focused on apparel, footwear, and sewn products. We issue three levels of certification that are valid from six months to two years based on a facility's compliance with WRAP's 12 Principles. Our Principles are based on generally accepted international workplace standards, local laws and workplace regulations, and include the spirit or language of relevant conventions of the International Labor Organization (ILO), the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, and the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD)&rsquo;s Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises.

The Sustainable Apparel Coalition (SAC) is a global multi-stakeholder nonprofit alliance for the consumer goods industry. It&rsquo;s made up of more than 260 leading apparel, footwear, and textile brands, retailers, suppliers, service providers, trade associations, nonprofits, NGOs and academic institutions working to reduce environmental impact and promote social justice throughout the global value chain. Leveraging the Higg Index suite of tools for the standardized measurement of value chain sustainability, the SAC is working to transform business for exponential impact.
 The SAC was incorporated as a 501(c)6 nonprofit organization and launched the groundbreaking Higg Index suite of tools in 2011. In May 2019, the SAC spun-off the Higg Index technology platform to Higg, which delivers tools and services that help consumer goods businesses accelerate transformation for a more sustainable future. Say YESS to a Due Diligence Solution for Modern Slavery in the Cotton Sector
Cotton produced involving modern slavery unfortunately still exists today and is making its way into clothing sold by major U.S. brands and retailers. The initiative <a href="https://www.sourcingnetwork.org/yess" target="_blank" rel="noopener">YESS: Yarn Ethically &amp; Sustainably Sourced</a> is designed to eliminate cotton harvested with forced labor from supply chains by building capacity and independently verifying spinners and textile mills are implementing due diligence to prevent, mitigate, and avoid cotton produced with a high risk of forced labor.
The YESS Standards for Yarn Spinners and Textile Mills uses as its foundation the <a href="http://mneguidelines.oecd.org/responsible-supply-chains-textile-garment-sector.htm" target="_blank" rel="noopener">OECD Due Diligence Guidance</a>, and is aligned with the <a href="https://www.business-humanrights.org/en/big-issues/un-guiding-principles-on-business-human-rights/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">UN Guiding Principles for Business and Human Rights</a>.
Building an understanding of and adherence to due diligence expectations in the middle of the supply chain&mdash;where traceability is often lost&mdash;will assist the fashion industry to not only identify the risk of modern slavery but will coordinate collaboration to address this harmful practice.&nbsp;
